News from the farm

I love this in-between week. The busyness of Christmas has passed, and the freshness of the New Year is still around the corner. I hope everyone has been able to appreciate the blessings of the season amid the challenges of COVID.

Our news is that in November, Horse Discovery was fortunate to expand the herd of 4-legged teachers, while starting a new partnership with two incredible FEEL facilitators.

Let me introduce to you Ingrid and Charlotte Brammer. We connected earlier this year and once we'd all had a chance to host a workshop together, we knew it was meant to be. We each bring different backgrounds and talents: Charlotte is a Registered Psychotherapist, EMDR therapy practitioner, certified hypnotherapist an equine assisted Psychotherapist.

She specializes in anxiety treatment, OCD, PTSD and complex trauma. Read more about Charlotte and her work with horses.

Ingrid is a Master Life Coach with 30 years experience in the corporate world. She became a Certified Facilitated Equine Experiential Learning (FEEL) Practitioner in 2011 and built a variety of programs and helped countless people with their own transformation through the wisdom of the horse. Read more about Ingrid, pictured here with Elsa.

Meet Elsa and Auna, like the Disney Frozen sisters. Elsa is the eldest, wiser of the two, with white hair.

Auna is the young, energetic, strong-willed and curious one, with dark colouring. Both are purebred Andalusians - Spanish horses bred for their athletic ability for dressage and jumping. They are often seen in movies being ridden by royalty, and in Game of Thrones! The mares have integrated with our herd of Kola, Zorro and Soleil. It has been fascinating to watch them figure out their hierarchy and come together as one herd. Feeding time is now predictable, with the herd leaders eating first where they prefer, and the others finding piles of hay elsewhere.

Charlotte is in the photo with the client on the ground. This was taken at our summer workshop. (Yes, this does sometimes happen in a session! The client was looking to deeply ground herself, and she felt safe with Kola and Charlotte to do this).

We all look forward to collaborating in the coming months. Watch for new ways to explore the wisdom of the horses in private or group sessions. Until then, have a look at all the Co-Facilitator profiles, for some other amazing women I work with, and see more photos of the horses on the farm page.

I've also rescheduled the 2021 Visioning Workshop to Saturday, January 30 in hopes it will be safe to host at that time. If you'd like to be put on the list, please shoot me an email and I'll keep you posted. We'll have limited spaces to keep the group small.

Until soon,

Cheri
